Mini Brackets are 30% smaller than traditional metal brackets and are just as strong. They use the same technology as the larger version. The metal brackets attach to the front of the teeth and the metal arch wires attached to the brackets move the teeth.
Improved aesthetics: The most relevant advantage of this type of brackets is the improvement in the esthetics of the smile during orthodontic treatment, since their visual appearance is more discreet, representing less volume in their design compared to conventional size metal brackets.
More comfort: Mini metal brackets are thinner than conventional brackets, which increases patient comfort, producing less discomfort and irritation on the lips and cheeks. Many patients desire the most discreet treatment possible. However, some are not willing to pay the additional cost of ceramic brackets, for these cases, mini brackets are a good alternative.
Better gingival health: It is a fact that appliances with brackets produce a greater accumulation of bacterial plaque and food debris around the brackets, which can be difficult to remove. The proximity of the gum to these food debris and plaque causes inflammation of the gum, which is not desirable during orthodontic treatment. Mini brackets are farther away from the gum, so food debris and plaque are less likely to cause irritation and inflammation.
